:: Ways to Annoy Draco Malfoy ::

Firstly,[info]savvyfairy, it's fine if you 'steal' the layout, I checked.

I was just looking through some old entries, reading some comments, and it dawned on me that hey, a lot of things get on my nerves. I haven't updated for a few days, and I'm getting tired of reading comments about religion, so, here's a new entry, from me to you.

When Americans use British terms:

You are not British. No one in your school is a 'prat', or a 'git'. It is not 'bloody' cold, and you don't have 'knickers'. Many of you are guilty of this, and I will make it quite clear now that I am not interested in any excuses. If you are not British, don't try and sound it. Simple as that. I don't give a damn if your Grandma was born in London. Are you her? No. End of discussion. After the 'Harry Potter' books came out - (Ooher, a whole book named after you Potter, don't we feel special) everyone in U S of A decided they were suddenly British. The rude boy in their class became a 'wanker', their brother a 'prat' and they just bought the cutest new 'runners'. Oh please, you're not fooling anyone, so stop.

The infamous 'OMG Draco u r cool, frnd me plzz k??11!!one!!111':

Do you truly think I have the time to sit there and work out who wants me to friend them? Oh please. Everyone on this site would enjoy my undivided attention, (those who don't yet have me friended are simply in denial), but that doesn't mean they're going to get it. I don't mind people friending my journal, I would make it private like Granger's, (she's probably writing about how much she fancies Weasley, and doesn't want the world to know - you know, just in case that blind, deaf bloke in Zimbabwe missed something) if that were the case. However, if you do wish to friend me, and bask in the glory of my updates, then by all means, knock yourself out. However, don't put the ball in my court by asking me to friend you. What the bloody hell makes you think you're worthy of that? I don't even have myself friended.

Fangirls:

Yeah. I know I'm gorgeous.

Fangirls:

Okay, so maybe I'll let you keep commenting telling me how good looking I am. Just because I'm nice like that.

Bd splers and ppl who use slang because it iz c00l didn u kno?!?:

Die.

People who know my Father:

...

I have had at least five different people claiming to 'know' my Father. Is this some desperate attempt to get me to like/respect you? Yeah, he has been mentioned in a novel that has sold billions of copies all over the world. I'm fairly certain many people know of him, but none of you actually know him, and by claiming that you do, it only annoys me, and diminishes all chances you had of being friended. Boo hoo, go cry to one of your other invisible friends.

Anonymous people:

I was contemplating whether or not I should add this, because on one hand, they are a brilliant source of entertainment when I'm in a bad mood and need to make someone want to shrivel up and die, but besides that, yes, they do annoy me.

People who feel they're the only person who has me friended, yet still remains 'opinionated' and an 'individual':

Oh please. So everyone here is a half witted fangirl except you, right? Riiight. Don't shave for a week, show the world just how much 'feminine pride' you have, because you know, we all do care. Deep, deep down.

...

Novel-length comments:

Do you truly think I care about your opinion that much? There are a few select people I have friended that I would take the time to read a longer comment, but for the rest of you, who feel the need to post epics as comments, sod off!

Headaches:

Like the one I have now.

I could go on forever, but, it is very late here, and I do have quite the headache, so I suppose I should be ending it here. Perhaps I will add some more at a later point.

If you're lucky.

I sometimes am guilty of using British spellings, though I try not to. But I cringe whenever I see or hear an American using a British term. And you're lucky. I wish I had fangirls, or rather, fanboys.

Anyway, recover from your headache soon.

It seems to be one of those never ending headaches. It's kind of a dull throbbing right now, but it's still rather irritating. I think I may pay Pomfrey a visit.

. So everyone here is a half witted fangirl except you, right?

Well, excepting yourself, me and [info]skjeve...pretty much. ;)

When Americans use British terms:

Does that mean when the very Scottish doctor who alternates between calling me "Yank" and "Lassie" at the clinic calls in for support I'm not allowed to shoot back with "Manky Scot git!" *snerk*
...even if it makes him laugh?

You know you're one of the people I'd put up with, you can get away with lots on this journal that others cannot. I'm not even snarky with you, so that certainly says something.

Hey! I want credit for having at least three-quarters of a wit.

I do not deny being a fangirl. Good Draco-snark makes my day. *bats eyes at Draco, ducks hex*

Of course, I'm [info]tviokh's fangirl, too. *bats eyes at Tviokh, ducks hex*

As for the British slang, guilty as charged. Not deliberate, though. I even ranted about it. But, with lots of therapy since, I think I've got that ruddy tendancy licked.

Ooh, don't I feel exclusive? Granted, it hasn't been confirmed, but my ego's large enough to assume it. Ahem.

I use British spellings not out of pretention but because I harbour an innate love for the English language and I am not at all fond of the American bastardisation of it. Yes, that includes crap spelling. Tviokh can vouch.

I have been granted permission by various British friends to employ such terms as "dodgy" in my conversation as well, and shall continue to do so when applicable and desirable, or whenever the whim siezes me.

My apologies if I am in fact one of those from whom it irritates you to see it, but I'm not about to stop; it's ingrained habit by now.

Besides- I enjoy being an irritant ;)

Am friending you under my actual OOC journal, incidentally, more for the purposes of keeping my OOC acquaintances separate from roleplay ones (yes, this account is an RP one. I did warn you previously, I think). If you suddenly see posts popping up from [info]andsaca pay me no mind. I am simply happily snarking at the world at large from beneath a different banner.

Hm. Right, okay. Heh.

I’m sorry, Draco. I know I am totally and completely guilty of the being horribly American and saying ‘git’ and ‘prat’ and such. I also know how annoying it must be!

Just for clarity, it did not start infecting my stupid fangirl brain with the books. I will try very hard not to say it anymore. (To you, at least)

Apologetically,
Melody

Well, I was going to post a large, opinionated, novel-length comment, but I suppose it can all be summed up with the question: What if British slang is a part of your culture? For example, the area of Canada I live in is still very Colonial, and people use terms like "knickers", "prat", and "trainers". You can't blame everything on Harry, you might end up giving him an ego.

Do they teach you to read in Canada? I realise that basically everyone in Canada has either British, or Scottish, or even Irish in them, so naturally people would still use those terms. If I had mentioned Canada in my post, I suppose your comment would be relevant.

As regards British slang, any acquisition thereof in my vocabulary I blame exclusively on my parents' obsession with the muggle comedy show Monty Python's Flying Circus, which I watched a lot in middle-school (not sure what the equivalent is in Britain, so read: age 10-13), long before Potter became widely known as "the boy who [just wouldn't die]" . . . Also, living in New Zealand for six months has had some effects on choice of words that cannot be helped (though I'm not sure they could be called British, but British-like). I will, however, do my best to not resort to slang (of any kind) when commenting in your journal if it offends you. Respectfully Yours,

~ the black rabbit ~

Who has time to write novel-length comments anyway? Why not save that for their own journals? Isn't that what they're for?

Headache? :( Maybe a few pain pills and round of mindless shagging would cure you of your ails.

Sad, sad people do. I agree with you completely, if you have something to say that's going to take an hour to write, write it in your own bloody journal! Now there's an idea.

Mindless shagging? Are you offering?

What if Canadians use British terms? I admit I have been guilty of saying "bloody" more than a few times...?

Anyways, I'm building it now. I have a HI109 exam tomorrow, so it may not be done today. However, bascially all I have left are the puzzle-things and tweaking it.

Internet slang annoys the hell out of me, too! It's like people forget what a vowel is; really makes me want to throw a dictionary at them. Also, one word : punctuation. I think this is a foreign concept to many people.

I will rightly admit, I put a "u" in words like favourite and colour and I do say bloody hell all the time, blame it on Weasley. But thank gods that's as far as it goes. I think, unless I subconsciously am spouting of random rubbish in Brit-like terms.

Sorry to hear about your headache, shagging is always the first cure on my list...too bad I don't get headaches often.

Hey Draco,

I'm writing you this message because my good friend, [info]dawniky (she bought you some paid time) has recently been going through a very hard time. Some old friends in her life have been being completely miserable to her, (see, this chick).

Someone recently hacked into her fanfiction account, (I promise she had no stories about you and your Father) and deleted all of her stories. By doing this, she lost every hard-earned review, as well as had her privacy completely invaded. I know there's no way you could find out who did this, but you are the King of making people feel like shit, and I want that girl (the one who's being cruel to Dawn) to feel so tiny an ant would be able to crush her.

Dawn is the sweetest girl in the world, and does not deserve this kind of treatment. If you look at her LiveJournal, you'll see her most recent entry, where she's updated about what happened. Now, look at the comments. Sporty Spice (pink hat chick) decided to post a bunch of hateful things to her, kicking her when she was already down. I replied, but I thought you'd do it much better. C'mon Draco, you're the master. I think I can count on you to make someone miserable, especially if it means helping out one of your friends.

Thanks!

xoxo

~Megs

I don't understand why Americans should 'stop' using British words, they should say whatever word they want, rather its British, French, or whatever, yeah they should also not try to learn spanish because their not Mexican. Thats silly and also rude. No, they shouldn't admit guilty to anything.
